How do we become Affiliates?
That's just easy really ^^. PM us or comment here . Every member that joins will be referred to that page so they can join other games like yours. You can also pm us when ever you are in need of a character and we can let our players know! HO related games only please.


What's your plot?
The year is 2003, the new renaissance for the magical world has flourished after the war. It seems that everyone has forgotten about past events and have moved on. Not everyone moves on easily...As the ministry gives magical journal to every resident, people begin to wonder for what? Isn't peace already there?


As the wizardry world rebuilds so does certain things that shouldn't be re built. Lucius Malfoy hasn't moved on that easily. Even if he did vow to be good. Nothing good ever lasts, now does it? As time passes by his hunger for power rises and each passing moment is making it harder for him to achieve that goal.

Say hello to the new Dark Lord. Behind the backs of the Order of Phoenix , Lucius builds his dark army with followers who are hopeful of another apocalypse and this time, Lucius was prepared. As he found an artifact that could bring the dead back, he thinks on who to use it? And how many people.

The only problem with the artifact is, that once you are reborn to before your death, you are the opposite.... So what did this mean? If you were good before your death, now you were bad? His plans exactly.

What was once dead walks amongst the living. And with a taste for blood. Remus Lupin and many others on the wrong side. No one seems to notice for a while until they see it for them selves. Why would dead loved ones return? Who was doing all of this?

Questions begin to be asked as the ministry slowly loses control to their utopia. It seems that no one can answer the questions, not even Harry Potter. Who will stand up and fight this time? Will anyone be willing to risk their new families or loved ones for another war? Are they ready for what's planned for them..?

In the end you look for hope but never get to find it. It seems that all good that has existent, all dreams that were made, have been destroyed;piece by piece. No one is safe any more. It's a matter of time before catastrophe happens.

Are you slash/etc friendly?
We don't care if your character is a three legged mutant from Albania, as long as you're having fun is all that matter.s But please, don't make EVERY character a slashy, bi,transvestite etc. Be reasonable :] Also for characters they are held two eastern time zone days.

Who created Desolated RPG?
Two girls who absolutely love to role play and are HP nuts. That's how Meeg & Squee were created! Didn't you know that?! Now you know. XD


Who are the mods?

Is there an age limit?
As long as you can handle adult themes and you are over fourteen it is fine. Anyone can apply and join us. No one here will be turned away due to their age. We only ask for DOB so we can give you BDAY posts or little gifts and let members send you birthday wishes.


How do I apply?

After I apply & If I get accepted what do I do?
Invitations to all the other communities will be sent to you, please accept them and put them on your watch list. Also link us back in your character journal somehow. Do not add us first, we will ad you then you can add us back. Thanks!

What themes are allowed on this group?
Anything. We have no problem with any themes. But players, please if you're uncomfortable with a certain theme let others know. That way they can work a way around it. For an example, sex. If you're uncomfortable with sexual themes then say so! please! No one will get mad.

What does Branching Off Plot Mean?
Branching off means where you make your own plots that follow the original plot. Meaning, for example. My Pansy and er I dunno Hermione's branched off plot is a follow up to what's currently happening. Say, deatheaters attacked hogsmeade, well the girls are teaming up to find out who's behind it, but at the end someone chickens out and the other needs help from other people. We made this group that way so people can express their creative ways.

I don't live in your time zone.. ;.; how can this work?
Let the player (s) your with what time zone you're from etc. It's that easy. Usually you guys can work out that issue yourselves. :] I know many of you have school in the fall or summer so let people know!


Do you allow originals?
In matter of fact yes! We do! But let's be reasonable, don't make all of your characters originals we do need canons too. No mary sues though please! They scare Squee a lot. lmao.


What are the certain communities you guys have?
We have only three communities as of now.The mods decided to not make so many communities. desolated is our main rpg community. desolatedooc is our OOC community. and desolatedgossip is for gossip in IC.

What do we need to have? Like AIM,YIM, ETC?
AIM is needed. Please when applying you must give us your OOC and your Character's screen names. People will have a list where to contact those people. Your journal can be where your character thinks,leaves messages for others. Your AIM is for AIM Threads in which once finished you can post up at ~desolatedthread taking off the user names and replacing them with the character's proper names. tag your entries please

OH! Tagging! What do I include in my entries?
At ~desolatedthread you must include in your tags your characters name and with who, house even if they graduated, setting and what's involved.

Like this: Pansy Parkinson & Tonks , Slytherin , Hogsmeade , Deatheaters,Plans

At ~desolated you must have the same things up except in the entries ( not tags!) please put this.

If your starter post is three or more paragraphs long, post three paragraphs out of the LJ-CUT and put the rest in an LJ-CUT please. this saves people's friends' pages. In the gossip community your tags must be setting, who's involved , and what's it about Here's an example of what we mean.

Little things like that will make others easier to find that stuff if they want to comment on or reply to the RP.


God-modding and newbies how do you deal with that?
We accept all types of players as long as you are literate. Please, no slang language in OOC or IC. Unless the character has an accent then in IC only when in dialog. Please do not god mod, let your character get hurt once in a while, unless they are accident prone (lol) . If you PLANNED the god modding let mods know about your plans in everything. It's easy, just comment at the Planning Entry and they'll respond in their IC or mod journal. Or you can PM the mod journal. Either way is fine.

I have issues with another player, what can I do?
DO NOT FOR GOD'S SAKE DO NOT START DRAMA! This means posting in mean communities like quitroleplaying or whatever the fuck it's called. If we catch you we will find out who you are and ban you, nuff said. That is immaturity and idiocy . If you have issues with certain people please PM the mod journal, that's all that needs to be done. We will handle the rest. I'm a fair person. Yes it's only one person running this community.

What characters are not allowed?And Why?
Any canon is allowed except for the so called magical Astoria Greengrass for many reasons. We believe that JKR pulled Astoria out of no where AFTER the series was already done. So we do not acknowledge her. To us she doesn't exist due to that very ordeal that JKR can not seem to let go of the series. She wasn't mentioned in the end , she was mentioned weeks later after the series was out. So we feel that she's not important to have around.


Oh, you're alone !? Wow..How can I help?
Behaving. I might soon have another mod who I already spoke with. Once she's settled in you'll have two female mods, yep females! You can also help by not starting drama, not spamming, or advertising unless you asked a mod. we usually just refer you to promotings to advertise. You can also help by letting your friends know about us or promoting!

I made you guys some promoting banners, how can i give them to you?
There will be a promoting entry ASAP posted for just that! As long as the graphic has your watermark credit on it, we can use it. Usually all my graphics have (c)51291 on them so you know it's me who made them.


What types of PB are NOT allowed?
Scene queens . the rest of them fake girls are not allowed. For Canon Characters please use find_a_pb to find a good PB those people there know what they're talking about. Do not get a Britney Spears for Hermione, seriously!? WTF? I've seen worse like Ashley Tisdale as Hermione. Before you ask, yes originals are allowed as long as they are not mary-sues.

How active do I have to be?
Twice a week is fine. If you ever go on hiatus PM the mod journal ~desolatemods and let us know how long and when you're coming back. If you come from a different time zone always tells us what time you'll be on. Obviously one of us is from Eastern Time the other is from Australia. XD so you might have the mods on at different times or together if the other can't sleep.

Those who weren't around either war,but considered an evil character; what side do they belong to?
You have two choices when this comes up within your character. They can toe between both sides or pick a side themselves. Examples if Barty Crouch Jr returns, he was considered a psychopath. He can still be insane in a good way,bad way or both.

When he/she shows up is there a certain location where he'll be and is he on his own when it comes to housing and such?
You have two choices when a characters is resurrected from the dead. They can go through a vortex and land in Hogwarts/Dark Forest, be greeted by their respected Greeter ( females:Miles , Males:Millicent) . When that respected greeter welcomes them back, they give them information and officially become their living-dead tour guide. For the housing, they are welcomed to stay in a 'La Familia's ' member's home. Usually the greeter takes in the person to their home and gives them house & board for a small price, loyalty to Lucius Malfoy. If they are a good character, they are left on their own and only greeted once.
